Alia Bhatt is starring in a powerful female-centric film Gangubhai Kathiawadi. The film directed by Sanjay Leela Bhansali is a biopic on Gangubhai, a simple girl from Kathiawad, and how she was forced into prostitution by her suitor Ramnik Lal and later went on to become the madam of a brothel in Kamathipura in Mumbai.
The excitement increased when the makers announced the film's release on January 6th,2022, a few months back. But much to the surprise of all the makers changed the film's release plans. The film got a new release date and it will now be released in February 18, 2022. Many expected a clash of titans between Gangubhai Kathiawadi and Rajamouli's RRR. But now that clash has been averted as the makers of Gangubhai Kathiawadi postponed the release.
The film stars Ajay Devgn in a powerful role apart from Alia Bhatt. Ajay Devgn is playing the role of Karim Lala and the film stars Huma Qureshi and Emran Hashmi in important roles. Jayantilal Gada and Sanjay Leela Bhansali who are producing the film on Pen India Ltd and Bhansali Productions banner announced the new release date saying "Watch her rise with power, courage & fearlessness. #GangubaiKathiawadi coming to take over 2022 on 18th February, in cinemas near you."
