The people in India who observe Hinduism treat 'cow' as the symbol of their religion and worship it as if it were a God. Everyday, we witness people, especially women, do puja to the cows. It must also be recalled that the use of cow fat by a certain group of people to prepare their weapons led to the 'Sepoy Mutiny' in 1857.
In light of the ill-treatment and slaughter of cows by certain groups of India, some cow admirers initiated a rebellion against them. They initiated one crore signatures campaign as well. The demands raised by them are; the cow should be made the national animal by the Indian government immediately and a ban should be imposed against the cow slaughter.
The BJP led union government is hoped to oblige the demands of cow worshippers.
