Total Chaos in AP Education System?

Total Chaos in Andhra Pradesh Education System?

When CM Jagan Reddy decided to distribute Rs.15000 free money to the mothers of the school going kids, people clapped their hands. When the CM took many innovative decisions like Nadu Nedu, Jagananna Vidya Kaanuka etc., people wholeheartedly appreciated those schemes. Of course, they couldn't predict that the free schemes would dampen the development of AP.

However, Jagan Reddy's government invited the wrath of people for the first time when it had taken the unilateral decision to make English medium education mandatory to all the government schools.

And now, the AP government is said to have taken a dangerous move with an ultimate experimentation in primary and the high schools. According to this, there will be six kinds of schools, henceforth, instead of the existing primary and high school system. But then, the teachers of all quarters are dubious about the following factors and are raising apprehensions on the government's move.

 * The primary classes such as 3, 4 and 5 will be merged into high schools. As a result, the high school system will have classes from 3rd class to 10th class. Obviously, it will be burdensome for the HMs and teachers of high schools taking care of all those children.

* Naturally, there will be setbacks of infrastructure and scarcity of rooms will arise in the high schools.

* High school teachers are threatened with this act of the government as they suspect if they are allotted lower classes to teach the students which actually is not a cup of their tea.

* Primary school timings, as of now, are different from high schools. Obviously, primary teachers are worrying about working under the roof of a high school.

* Teachers also fear the disappearance of promotion channels for them. Now that the government is running short of money for its free money schemes to underserved people, no such promotions and incentives facility is available for the teachers.

* As there is a merger of primary schools in government schools, the students of primary schools will have to walk for hundreds of metres to reach school. Naturally, they prefer absconding the classes for even small drizzles or with a raise in temperatures.

BOTTOM-LINE: Since the AP government's decision is going to be the biggest problem for both the teachers as well as the students, the opposition parties have got a right point to fight against the government. They need to agitate against New Education Policy of the government.
