The digital media revolution across the country is making filmmakers come with web content. The outbreak of coronavirus increased the viewership for web content on OTTs as theatres got shut down affecting the theatrical releases.
The changed situation is making people look at OTTs. OTTs also started coming with web series to attract viewers. Till now the web series used to come only in Hindi but now even web series started coming in other languages.
Demand for Telugu web series is increasing and streaming also increased drastically. However Telugu content is not as successful as other language web series. The web series in Telugu which is available failed to attract viewers.
Many say the web series is disappearing quickly due to a lack of proper casting. While the makers are spending whopping amounts for web series like films they are unable to get the right cast for their content. This is robbing viewers of all the appeal of a top cast. Many feel it is better if the makers concentrate on getting the right cast rather than pump in huge amounts for the web series.
