In the wake of the unusual spreading of COVID-19 in its second wave, several states of India imposed lockdowns in an attempt to contain the virus. But then, how far a lockdown would be beneficial to the governments and the people? Though the pace of the spread of the virus has decreased a little, abnormal loss in every sector seems to be appalling.
* Migrant workers are the most affected vulnerable group during lockdowns. As they fail to win their daily bread, there is a threat of hunger deaths.
* The central and the state governments have to face a severe financial crunch which inevitably leads to the blockade of developments in many departments.
* The governments relax the curfew for four or six hours a day. There is a heavy rush of people at every outlet selling the basic human needs. Obviously, social distance is missing here. In such a case, what's the use of imposing lockdowns?
* Most of the individuals suffer financial crisis with huge losses incurred in their businesses.
WHAT'S THE REPLACEMENT OF LOCKDOWNS?: The governments should impose more restrictions to the people instead of lockdowns. The people who don't observe social distancing and wear no masks should be imposed with excessive fines.
