20 Years for Khushi Industry Hit, Pawan No.1

It was 27 April, 2001. Power Star Pawan Kalyan's 7th offing Khuhi hit the screens and received unanimous positive talk on the day one. Ultimately the film stood as an industry hit of Tollywood breaking all the collection records of previous industry hit Narasimhanaidu.

Khushi collected a total of Rs.24 crore worldwide crossing the previous highest Rs.22 crores of Narasimhanaidu. In Nizam alone, Khushi accumulated Rs.8 crore share which was an incredible feat those days. However, Khushi didn't cross NN's highest number of direct hundred days (102 centres) as Pawan Kalyan didn't show interest on dragging the centres for hundred days with deficits. Khushi ran hundred days in 75 direct centres across united AP without a day or weekly deficit.

Well, Pawan Kalyan's debut film Akkada Ammayi Ikkada Abbayi became an average venture at the ticket windows while the second film Gokulamlo Seetha and third venture Suswagatham stood as decent hits.

Pawan Kalyan, however, attained stardom with his first blockbuster Tholiprema. Thammudu and Badri took him among the next level heroes category. And then, industry hit Khushi made him the number one hero among his generation and subsequent generation heroes. His mania among the youth was remarkable with Khushi while his market stamina became on par with the films of all time number one Megastar Chiranjeevi.

Khushi was directed by SJ Surya. Bhumika shared screen space with Pawan Kalyan in this classic romantic entertainer.
