As the film industry is bouncing back to normalcy, the second wave has engulfed Tollywood similar to Bollywood with the rising coronavirus cases. Tollywood celebrities Allu Arvind, writer KV Vijayendra Prasad, director Trivrikam Srinivas and heroine Nivetha Thomas contracted the fatal virus recently.
Now, producer Dil Raju is the latest to join the list. The latest to fall prey are directors Gunasekhar and VN Aditya. The news of 'Shakuntalam' director Gunasekhar contracting the virus came in the late hours on Monday. With this the shoot of ambitious mythological film Shakuntalam has come to a halt. Talk has it that last week Dil Raju met Pawan Kalayn as he did a photoshoot for Harish Shankar’s upcoming film. Then he went on to the sets of Shakuntalam which was happening nearby to Pawan’s shoot. Subsequently, both the celebrities went into home quarantine now.
Meanwhile, second wave has taken a toll on films like Nani’s Tuck Jagadish, Love Story, Acharya and Pushpa are some of them.
