In a significant move that has triggered public outcry in Andhra Pradesh, the Narendra Modi government at the Centre has finalized the privatisation of Rashtriya Ispat Nigam Ltd (RINL), the public sector corporate entity of Vizag Steel Plant (VSP). The Union Cabinet approved the privatisation of RINL earlier this week, which was announced by the Ministry of Steel on Tuesday.
Workers of Vizag Steel Plant, merchants and few political leaders are participating in the protests. Recently, megastar Chiranjeevi also voiced his support. In the meantime, Vishnu Manchu faced the heat of VSP movement.
The actor along with his team went to Vizag for the screening of 10 mins sneak peek of his film Mosagallu. However, right after he landed in the city, protestors stopped him to give memorandum. They requested him to lend his support for their protest and also asked entire Tollywood to assist in battle against the central government's decision over privatization of VSP.
Vishnu didn’t utter a word with them. But, he left the place after taking the memorandum. He then interacted with a media to give clarity in regard of the issue. He said he can’t directly participate in the protests due to restrictions. He stated that Tollywood biggies should take a decision on how can they support the protests.
Some cautioned Vishnu Manchu that he shouldn’t try to cash in with the emotions of the protestors. “If he is really sincere in supporting the protests, he should release a statement questioning the BJP government which is actually enough from his part. Hope, it is not a publicity stunt to grab the attention for his upcoming film Mosagallu which is not known to many,” say they.
Mosagallu is releasing on 19th of this month.
