Anudeep KV directed a flop film Pittagoda, before Nag Ashiwn gave him the chance to direct a film Jathi Ratnalu under his production house. Nag Ashwin’s love for comedy films brought him the chance to direct three popular actors in a film, despite delivering a dud with his first film. Jathi Ratnalu is set for release on March 11th. Meanwhile, Anudeep revealed few interesting facts while speaking to scribes.
Disclosing the film’s plotline, the director said, “Three innocent and dumb guys get traped in a serious crime and how they get out of it is the basic idea of the film. These guys are unaware of police and courts.” Anudeep says Nag Ashwin recommended Naveen Polisetty’s name for the main lead role.
“Priyadarshi and Rahul Ramakrishna were considered for the two other male leads. They even did audition for the roles. Since, we didn’t want to repeat the Jodi as they acted together in many films, we auditioned many other. But, we felt that, Priyadarshi and Rahul would be the best choice.”
Anudeep also revealed that they rejected big OTT offers to release the film in theatres.
