Trivikram Srinivas is a star director. Much before he attained this ‘star’ status he worked as a writer. As a writer, his stories revolved around common man. The kind of subjects he chose had middle class touch, it brought a touch of familiarity and closeness to the audience.
Wizard Of Words started his directorial debut with Nuvve Nuvve but the film didn’t attain success. Then came Mahesh Babu Athadu where the film revolves around money. The character essayed by Mahesh shows him as a contractor who kills people for money. Then came Pawan Kalyan Jalsa.
Post Jalsa, Trivikram took a different route as all his movies had the concept of ‘money’. Does it sound weird for you folks? Well, let us break it down for you as it holds true. His film Khaleja starring Mahesh had the baddie Prakash Raj running behind money, where he plans to wipe out the enitre village for mining sake in his greed of money. He came up with Allu Arjun starrer Julayi where the crux revolved around money as it surrounded around Rs 1500 crore. Then came Atharintiki Daaredi having rich setup with crores of factories.
Trivikram then did S/O Satyamurthy where the hero loses money post his father’s demise. How he again gains money is the crux of the story. Even in Samantha and Nithiin’s A Aa, the aunt holds grudges for not giving money. The recent blockbuster Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo also saw the concept of money where the protagonist was supposed to lead a luxurious life but rather grew up in a middle-class abode as he got changed at the time of his birth.
So, each film of Trivikram had the concept of money except for Aravinda Sametha where we found shades of Rayalaseema. While it seemed that Guruji has come out his comfort zone by choosing different subject, it only seems a thing of a distant.
The latest buzz is that Trivikram and Jr NTR’s upcoming film also has the concept revolving around money. It’s high time that the filmmaker keeps aside his pet subject aside and come up with stories that connect to common man, have human touch and speaks about human shades.
