Do you remember the film Gouravam that marked the debut of Allu Sirish? The film produced by Prakash Raj and directed by Radha Mohan stood as an utter flop much to the disappointment of Sirish who wanted to make his mark as his brother Allu Arjun. Do you feel this discussion now as nonsense? Well, Gouravam is remembered because the new mega hero Vaishnav Tej’s debut flick Uppena also has shades of Sirish’s movie.
Young Tiger NTR has unleashed theatrical trailer of Uppena and going by it the film talks about honor killings. While in Gouravam Allu Sirish along with his friends fight for the justice of his friend’s death, Vaishnav Tej faces the threat from his girlfriend’s father played by Vijay Sethupathi, since he belong to low caste and of economically weak section.
Still, Uppena looks promising with a completely different setup. Vaishnav Tej looks apt in the role and Krithi Shetty is a killer. She looks beautiful and comes up with a wonderful performance. There’s no need to talk especially about Vijay Sethupathi who undoubtedly one of the finest actors of this era.
Vaishnav Tej and Krithi Shetty’s love story in initial portions is just magical, wherein the drama after the entry of Vijay Sethupathi is engaging. Dialogues are impactful and Devi Sri Prasad’s music is remarkable.
Director Buchi Babu Sana comes up with a known story and presents it in an appealing manner. The film made under Mythri Movie Makers and Sukumar Writings is set for release on February 12th.
