With coronavirus pandemic engulfing the entire world leaving an unimaginable melancholic state to the human world in 2020. Needless to say, the film industry too suffered to the greater quarters with the spreading of the dreaded disease.
Tollywood witnessed just a limited number of releases until the lockdown imposed in India in the month of March. However, the film industry appears to be regaining strength with the solid openings for Solo Brathuke So Better released lately. Following are the hit films of Tollywood, 2020
INDUSTRY HT (NON BB): Allu Arjun's Ala Vaikunthapurramuloo, which hit screens for Sankranthi, collected Rs.162+ crores, stood as an industry hit (non BB). The film breached previous industry hit Rangasthalam (non BB) full run share Rs.127 crores.
BIG HIT: Mahesh Babu's Sarileru Neekevvaru was released for Sankranthi and emerged as the big hit with Rs.125 crore world wide share collections. Though the film couldn't live upto the expectations in Overseas and a few other states in India, it scored a phenomenal success in Telugu states.
SUPER HIT: Nithiin's Bheeshma stood as a super hit with Rs.25 crore world wide collections. Nithiin bounced back with this film after a series of failures.
HITS: Hero Nani's production venture 'Hit' and dubbing film Kanunu Kanulanu Dochayante have become hits in 2020.
AVERAGE: 1978 Palasa, directed by Karuna Kumar and featured by Rakshit and Nakshatra turned an average venture. The film was acclaimed by the critics with its hard hitting content. However, Srikakulam folk song 'NAADEE NAKKILEESU GOLUSU' turned an amazing success and is heard in every occasion and event associated with huge gatherings.
SUCCESSFULLY RUNNING: Sai Dharam Tej's Solo Brathuke So Better is the first film to have hit screens after theaters reopening. The film took off with great openings and is aiming at a super hit status.
