It has been for 20 days, the Andhra Pradesh government daringly let high schools in the state be reopened. Naturally, the media, the opposition parties and the doctors made an outcry for reopening of schools. They all wholeheartedly wished the education system of India would collapse. However, it seems their wish is not going to be fulfilled, at least in the AP.
According to statistical evidence the spreading of the dreaded disease is quite low among the teachers as well as the students. While the percentage of infection is said to be 0.5% among the teachers, it was below 1% among the students which is said to be a normal spread of the disease.
ignited by the success of their decision in reopening of schools, the AP government is allowing even 8th class students to schools from Monday in addition to 9th and 10th class students.
The union government and many other state governments have done enough damage to the education system of India shutting down schools and colleges for several months.
Enough...enough...enough..! The union government should make all the schools, colleges and universities reopen with immediate effect on war-footing. They should take AP's reopening of schools as a replica in this regard.
