The Covid-19 pandemic and the subsequent lockdown has pressed pause button for nearly 8 months. Though unlock process began few months ago, it may take few more months for situations to come to normalcy. Coming to film industry, shootings of several films was resumed from last month. However, films which are supposed to be canned in foreign locations got delayed.
Coming to the actual point, superstar Mahesh Babu planned to start shoot of Sarkaru Vaari Paata in second half 2020, when everything was normal. But, the shoot got delayed due to lockdown. Director Parasuram then planned to shoot USA schedule first. Unfortunately, the shoot got delayed another time owing to Visa issues. Parasuram even went to USA for the recce of locations along with his team.
Mahesh Babu planned to begin his film with Trivikram Srinivas in the first half of 2021, after completing Sarkaru Vaari Paata. There were even reports that, Trivikram will take up this film first and then will direct young tiger NTR in Ayinanu Poyi Ravale Hastinaku. In fact, Trivikram also thought of taking up Mahesh Babu’s film first, as NTR may not be available till summer, next year until all the works related to RRR wraps up.
But, it seems Sarkaru Vaari Paata will take additional 4 to 5 months of time than the estimated time period, due to delay in start of the project. Thus, Trivikram will begin NTR’s film first.
These developments are bringing new headaches to Mahesh Babu who wanted to do 2 films in 2021. He is yet to sign his next after Sarkaru Vaari Paata. His film with SS Rajamouli may begin in 2022.
