Legendary singer-composer-actor SP Balasubrahmanyam passed away today following coronavirus complications. He was 74. His son SP Charan said, “SP Balu belongs to everyone. He will live on forever in his songs. My dad passed away at 1.04 pm.”
SP Balu announced through a video recording, which he posted in August first week that he had tested positive for corona and had gotten admitted to MGM Healthcare. He had then remarked that he was getting admitted mostly to take rest.
While his health had deteriorated during the second week in hospital, he was gradually making progress. In fact, Charan's update on September 22 said SP Balu was making steady progress even though he was on Ecmo/Ventilator, and was eager to leave the hospital.
On September 24, MGM Healthcare released a statement about SPB’s health. The statement mentioned that the singer had been put on ‘maximal life support system’ after his health deteriorated.
Unfortunately, the acclaimed singer's health deteriorated in the last 24 hours and he passed away a few minutes ago, today.
May his soul rests in peace.
