The National Testing Agency (NTA) is drawing the ire of lakhs of students who attended JEE Mains exams, September and got their results. It's felt the evaluation process conducted by the NTA is merely unfair and left the better performers in a frustrated state.
For instance a student scored 156 marks with the percentile 99.1 in JEE Mains January session. And the same student got just 98.6 percentile with the marks 196 in September.
According to another example, a student who had taken the examination on 3rd September got the rank 30K for 180 marks. Another student who had taken the exam on September 4 scored 8K rank for the same 180 marks. Blah! Blah!! What an anomaly!
But then, why this strange result of JEE Mains? Why this disastrous performance of NTR for the conduct of exams and the declaration of the results? Following are said to be the reasons which need to be corrected by the NTA.
* The examinations were conducted in two phases, one in the month of January and the another one in September. As such, the total number of students spiked to 10+ lakhs which is unwantedly a big number.
* While NEET is conducted on a single day for 16 lakh students, why 10 shifts for just 7 lakh students in case of JEE Mains?
* Students who faced the toughest shift quite well, were awarded poorer ranks than the students who exhibited below par performance for the easiest question paper. Can't it be said of an immense justice to the bright students?
ADVICE: The union government should immediately abolish the NTA and replace it with the CBSE board for the conduct of examinations from next year. Moreover, shift systems and two phase exams should also be cancelled by the government.
