Filmmakers Failed To Gauge The Pulse

Films With Good And Comedy Content Tasted Success In Tollywood

Corona pandemic crushed the dreams of many. Tollywood filmmakers’ did not make many films due to coronavirus in 2020. However, a look at the films released and their performance, one gets an impression that the makers failed to gauge the pulse of the movie lovers. Everyone started turning to OTTs and Digital Media platforms and the serious films like Keerthy Suresh’s Penguin, Satya Dev’s 47 Rojullo, Nani’s V failed to impress the viewers.

At the same time light comedy and hilarious entertainers like Bhanumati and Ramakrishna, Krishna and His Leela, Umamaheswara Ugra Roopasya and Johar attracted one or other sections. This was the same trend noticed in the theatres. Sarileru NeeKevvaru and Ala Vaikunthapurramloo attracted all, but Allu Arjun’s film scored over Mahesh Babu’s film due to hilarious content.

Serious films like Ravi Teja's Disco Raja, Naga Shaurya’s Aswathama, Vijay Devarakonda’s World Famous Lover, Vishwak Sen’s HIT failed to take off. In between Nithiin’s comedy entertainer Bheeshma attracted all. This shows that makers who came with violence and action entertainers made huge losses while those came with the comedy capers, reaped rich dividends.
