Megastar Chiranjeevi played a powerful role of freedom fighter Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy in Sye Raa under the direction of Surender Reddy. By playing this role, Chiru realized his dream of starring as a freedom fighter on silver screen. His son Ram Charan made his father proud by producing the film on Konidela Productions and thus fulfilling his dream.
During the time, rumors spread that Ram Charan would play a powerful cameo in the film. But later it did not materialize much to the disappointment of the fans. Inside talk is the makers penned a powerful role of Sharekhan for Ram Charan before the interval backdrop. Though the role is of the duration of five minutes, it was touted to be crucial for the film's proceedings.
The role will say a dialogue 'Narasimha Reddy, Nee laanti vaadu desaniki kavali' and picks up the knife from Chiranjeevi's hand and ends the life. The makers planned to cast Bollywood stars either Salman Khan or Sanjay Dutt. But due to various reasons, they opted out of the project. During that time Surender Reddy planned to cast Ram Charan for the role. However, Chiranjeevi rejected the idea as he had his own doubts as to whether movie lovers would accept the role of Charan ending his life in the hands of Chiru.
However, it is known that for such films, the duration will be more. So, they removed the role completely.
