Nobody expected that, Natural Star Nani would accept for OTT release of his film V. Surprisingly, considering the current tough situations, he gave green signal for digital release of his film. Further delay would have definitely burdened producer Dil Raju who too was initially hesitant to go for OTT release.
Now, this is going to be first biggest direct OTT release of Tollywood. Earlier, only small time films like Amrutharamam, Bhanumathi And Ramakrishna etc. were released on OTT platforms. Reportedly, Amazon Prime Video shelled out Rs 33.22 crores to obtain digital rights of V that also features Sudheer Babu under the direction of Indraganti Mohana Krishna.
Film analysts opine that Nani took a great and timely decision and others should follow him. They advise films which are ready for release should opt for OTT release.
Ram’s Red, Anchor Pradeep’s 30 Rojullo Preminchatam Ela, Vaishnav Tej’s Uppena, Anushka’s Nishabdham, Raj Tarun’s Orey Bujjiga etc. were planned for summer release along with V and they are done with all the production and post-production works.
Makers of Anushka’s Nishabdham are also mulling over releasing the film on OTT. They are expected to close the deal soon.
Nani’s acceptance may put others under pressure. Let’s see what they will decide!
