Cybercriminals and gangsters are using their creativity to cheat people in numerous ways. They are changing their modus operandi every now and then so that people do not grow suspicious about them. Now they are creating frauds in the name of contracts in the film industry.
Recently they targeted Tollywood makeup artists and cheated Rs 25000 from them in the name of makeup offers in the events and celebrity marriages. They got caught when they complained to cops and cops arrested them.
Rachakonda Police arrested an office boy in the Film Chamber and his accomplice along with others. All of them have contacts with the film industry. They sent messages to a person who used to do makeup in small events and celebrity marriages. They told him that they will give him a makeup contract and they are close to a hero.
He entered into an agreement with them for Rs 50 lakhs. They convinced him that they need a current account to transfer so much money and as he doesn't have that, they couldn't transfer. They told him that if they give 25k bribe to a bank manager, he will do it and told him to give Rs 25k by booking an Uber bike and handing the cash to the biker. When he gave the cash to the biker and then tried contacting them, the fraudsters did not respond. Growing suspicious, the makeup man complained to the cops.
