Sankranthi is considered to be biggest season for movie releases down south, especially in Tollywood. This year too, Tollywood witnessed several films hitting the screen. Allu Arjun’s Ala Vaikunthapurramloo and Mahesh Babu’s Sarileru Neekevvaru stood as commercial hits. The next year too, many films are being planned for Sankranthi release.
While makers of Nithiin’s new film Rang De announced through a teaser that the Venky Atluri directorial will release for Sankranthi in 2021, today makers of Akhil’s ongoing film Most Eligible Bachelor with a new poster proclaimed to have joined the Sankranthi race.
Power Star Pawan Kalyan’s comeback film Vakeel Saab that was initially planned for summer release will most probably release for Sankranthi, though official confirmation is awaited on this. Victory Venkatesh’s Naarappa is being planned for release for the festival.
Rajamouli’s RRR scheduled for Sankranthi release is likely to be pushed for other season, given it’s tough to say when film shootings will resume in Tollywood and still lots of works are left pending.
Megastar Chiranjeevi’s Acharya may also not see theaters for Sankranthi as the film directed by Koratala Siva completed only 40% of the shoot.
So, as of now, Vakeel Saab, Naarappa, Rang De and Most Eligible Bachelor are in Sankranthi race, 2021.
