More Losses, If Theaters Are Opened

It's not easy even if theatres are opened

Despite the increasing number of corona cases, Union Government headed by PM Modi decided to unlock various business establishments in phases to revive the economy.

Reports are coming that gyms, theatres, and other business establishments would be opened from the month of August. Officials are going on record that they will permit the opening of cinema halls with physical distancing norms. Union I&B ministry is getting ready to open theatres with 25% seating capacity. It is also discussing the same with the theatre management.

But many say with a spike in corona cases, India may soon become the no 1. Everyday close to 50k cases are getting registered and even if theatres are opened, with such fear gripping people, the question is who will come to theatres.

Theatre management will not get any profits with 25% seating capacity. The revenue will not even help for current bills and salaries. Even medium and high budget films released with 25% seating capacity, they will make huge losses. So no star, producer, and director will come forward to release their films.

Analysts say theatres will make more losses by opening now with 25% capacity rather than what they suffered with the complete closure.
