Craze and popularity for Digital Platform OTTs are increasing across the world. There are many OTTs like Amazon Prime, NetFlix, Disney Plus Hot Star, Sun Next, Alt Balaji, Zee 5, MX Player, Eros, Aha, etc. Of late due to the changed circumstances, people are depending on OTTs for entertainment.
Due to the closure of theatres, even new films are releasing on OTTs. Though OTTs' popularity is increasing many are objecting to the content that is streamed on OTTs. With a lack of censorship on the content in OTTs, the makers are crossing the thin red line and are coming up with obscene, adult and no holds barred content. So, family viewers are staying away from OTT content.
Under these circumstances, reports are coming that the Union Government is planning to bring OTT content under the purview of the censor board. Frankly speaking, people who watch content in OTT are enjoying the obscene language and scenes. Youth prefer to watch such bold content on OTTs.
If this content comes under censor board purview then all this will be done away with and OTT popularity may decrease. Since bringing content on OTT into the censor board, the Union Government is planning to come up with tough restrictions.
