OTTs Not Becoming Over The Top

Telugu Films Released On OTT Platforms Disappointing

Of late OTT is the most talked about term in the entertainment industry. OTT is known as Over The Top. With the changing technology, a lot of changes and developments are happening regarding film releases.

Following the outbreak of coronavirus, people are enjoying watching new films on OTTs along with their family members. One is not sure whether people will come to theatres when they get opened. This forced a few filmmakers to release their films on OTTs. Already dozen films released on OTTs however none of them attracted viewers, except for freshly released Krishna And His Leela that received average reviews.

Trade experts are of the opinion that if this trend continues and films which release on OTTs fail to attract viewers, then they may lose their interest. People are already under the impression that only those films which may become flop even if they release in theatres are getting released on OTTs. The recent result of Keerthy Suresh's Penguin is increasing the same opinion.

Though producers are benefiting with OTT releases, OTTs are not getting the desired craze. To the top of it, OTTs are not releasing the films on Pay Per View and making them available on monthly and yearly subscription basis. So with these releases OTTs will not benefit anything.

If few more films fail on OTTs then OTTs will get branded that they are not becoming Over The Top.
