SS Rajamouli is unarguably the highest paid director in India who besides remuneration takes home his share from profits. The same director who was named few times in Forbes Magazine is feeling the pressure for the first time in his career.
It is pretty common that his films get delayed extensively due to his diverse work style. Rajamouli goes for re-shoots if he is not convinced with any scenes or shot. In fact, his producers too never objected him, given he only delivers blockbusters providing massive profits to his producers.
But, that is not the case with RRR. The film starring young tiger NTR and mega power star Ram Charan is yet to complete 25 percent of its shoot, though the film is on sets for nearly couple of years. Due to various reasons, the shoot is progressing at slow pace and now with lockdown due to corona pandemic it is stalled extensively.
Rajamouli tried hard to resume the shoot of the film. But, due to spike in corona cases for last couple of weeks, government is not allowing big budgeted films that require huge cast and crew to take part in shoot to resume production works and even stars are not ready to dare the deadly virus.
Rajamouli is feeling immense pressure for the first time because he is also acting like one of the producers of the film. He indeed is dealing with all the finances of the film. Now, while few financers are asking to return the amount, few distributors who gave advances are also asking the makers to return the money or at least reduce the amount for theatrical business for their area.
Rajamouli who didn’t face such headache previously is unable to decide what to do. But, situations don’t seem favorable as researchers say there will only be spike in corona cases for next few months in India.
Further delay in resumption of film shoot will become additional burden for the makers. On the other hand, the film features few foreign actors who particularly are reluctant to join the shoot until things come to normalcy.
It has to be seen what solutions Rajamouli finds for his all difficulties!
