Finally, the ruling YSRCP has given up its three capitals idea, as it seems. Soon after assuming power, the the CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy and other ministers kept on hinting the possible three capitals in lieu of solo Amaravati.
And then, a bill on three capitals was passed in the legislative assembly but was obstructed in the legislative council. Irked by the dominant TDP members in the council, the YCP government resolved to abolish the council and is waiting for the union government's nod.
In the meantime, the entire nation is devastated with the spread of coronavirus and consequent lockdown imposed by the PM.
At this juncture, minister Peddireddy made it clear that there wouldn't be three capitals in near future owing to the spread of the pandemic. Minister's words are hinting that the party has merely scrapped the proposal of establishing three capitals in the state.
