Lakshmi's NTR might have been a failure at the box office. But then, eccentric genius Ram Gopal Varma succeeded in depicting the facts behind the demise of late NTR courageously. And now, he has taken up the ever burning topic, 'The Man Who Killed Gandhi'.
The Congress party was successful in suppressing the exact reasons of Nathuram Godse assassinating Mahatma Gandhi. No media was let to disclose the fact.
Fortunately, people of this generation are showing an immense interest to learn the story of Godse. And then, who is capable to film the biopic of Godse other than RGV? A right man has taken up the right task.
However, Babu Gogineni, who claims to be an atheist and rationalist but never discards his surname of particular caste, wrote a letter lambasting RGV's decision to can a film on Godse's life. Nevertheless, RGV gave a fitting retort to 'Gogineni' on his Twitter handle.
"OUTRAGEOUS POSTER! To morph the pictures of the assassin and the assassinated, and to weld them together for a film is wicked. Even evil. At the very least it shows a lack of respect for human life and a gross insensitivity to basic human decencies. Is this a nasty attempt to show that Godse the assassin is half-Gandhi or that Gandhi the victim is half-Godse? I ask that Sri Ram Gopal Varma withdraw this poster and acknowledge a colossal failure of judgement and rectitude," Babu Gogineni posted.
"The intention of the morph will be understood in the final film and i am within my rights to exercise my artistic vision like u are in offending God believers. Its not right on ur part to jump the gun even before u see final product. I suggest u take a chill pill and have a beer. Freedom of speech and expression is intended to be protected from those who get offended. if nobody gets offended you won’t need it," RGT retorted.
