Multiplexes Mega Plan To Revive The Market

Multiplexes To Implement Monthly Pass System

Multiplexes and single-screen theatres are closed for two months due to lockdown. Filmmakers are looking towards OTT releases to overcome the burden of interests. More than 8 films are getting released from Tamil, Hindi, and Kannada on the OTT platform.

This trend may continue even in the future. So multiplex owners are holding discussions as to what they should do to improve their business. In the USA sometime back they came up with the idea of movie pass for $10 monthly amount. One can watch any number of films in a month. Indian multiplex owners are now considering the idea of implementing such pass in India.

They are planning to announce the decision after deciding the charge for the movie pass. They feel that unless they come up with the announcement sooner than later, viewers may get used to OTTs and they may not show interest in coming to multiplexes.

People may come to single theatres even after corona as the ticket rates are less. Multiplexes rates will be always high and after corona, it is doubtful whether people will spend so much money to watch films. If such film passes are introduced, people may show some interest to watch movies.
