Megastar Chiranjeevi created a sensation with his film Gang Leader which completed 29 years yesterday. Chiranjeevi's action, dances, Vijayashanti's glamor, and songs turned the film into a blockbuster.
Vijaya Bapineedu after gaining recogniton as a magazine editor made his debut with Dabbu Dabbu Dabbu. He then made films like Patnam Vachina Pativratalu, Hero, and Magadheerudu with Chiranjeevi. He then came up with a different thriller Gang Leader and narrated the story to Chiranjeevi. However, Chiranjeevi who didn't like the narration rejected the film outright.
Once Vijaya Bapineedu narrated the story to Paruchuri Brothers. The veteran writers who found the loopholes promised to change the story if they get three days time. They also told the same to Chiranjeevi who with confidence in the Paruchuri brothers agreed for the same. Paruchuri Gopala Krishna after including interesting elements, narrated the same to Chianjeevi who readily gave green signal.
Chiranjeevi told Allu Aravind to give his dates to Gopalakrishna. Allu Aravind who had few doubts over the story, called Paruchuri Gopalakrishna to Chennai. He met Allu Aravind and narrated the story. Gopalakrishna asked 'Why are you recording the story'. Aravind told ' you do magic with words. So I will go to house and listen to the story and tell my opinion'.
In Bapineedu's story, Murali Mohan and all the heroes friends get killed. Paruchi brothers asked if everyone gets killed where will be the interest. Without a gang, there is no meaning for Gang Leader. So Paruchuri changed the story and added few interesting elements in Vijayashanti and Rao Gopala Rao's roles.
