Telangana CM KCR raised the voice first among all other CMs of India for the extension of national lockdown beyond April 15. The TRS supreme appealed the PM Narendra Modi to extend the lockdown for a few weeks so as to contain the deadly coronavirus pandemic.
KCR felt lockdown is the only weapon to overcome the setback of poor health infrastructure of India and can become an instrumental factor containing the horrendous virus.
However, chief ministers of many other states contradict the appeal of KCR. Andhra Pradesh CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy seems to be against KCR's demand.
The PM held floor leaders meet on Wednesday. YSRCP MP Vijay Sai Reddy, on behalf of YS Jagan, urged the PM to get lockdown confined to only hotspots, saying that it would be lifted in other areas gradually.
En passant, no new corona positive cases in AP have been recorded since last night and the total number gets restricted to 348 at the moment. Moreover, the government initiates some innovative measures like 'COVID volunteers' who include students of medical, dental, Unani and Homeopathic colleges to render their services in treating corona infected victims.
On the other hand, there is a possibility of an intense economic depression ahead for every state. Sensing these factors, YS Jagan mightn't have urged the PM on lockdown's extension. In such way, Jagan contradicts KCR. It, then, remains to be seen the take of the union government. The decision maybe out after CMs meet on April 11.
