Everyone knows the situation of dashing director Puri Jagannadh before iSmart Shankar. Even fans stopped keeping a count on the number of flops he delivered at the box office. He went on making films without any gap and they went on bombing at the box office. No one expected him to recreate his magic at the box office.
There were no expectations on his previous film iSmart Shankar. Though the film got anonymous negative reviews from all quarters, it turned out to be a surprise hit. Hero Ram's negative shades, heroines Nabha Natesh, Nidhi Agerwal's glamour treat and Mani Sharma's mass beats gave a kick to the masses. But there is no guarantee that every time, exposing of heroines will work out at the box office like it did in case of iSmart Shankar.
Now it seems Puri is planning to tread the same line to power his son Akash Puri to another level. Akash Puri is romancing Ketika Sharma in Romantic directed by Anil Paduri. Puri penned a song and it was novel with few words and few lyrics. While few praised the song as poetic, youngsters are getting attracted to the sexy looks of the heroine Ketika.
Earlier Ram Gopal Varma used to elevate the hotness of heroines like Urmila Matondkar and Antra Mali. But later he stopped banking on such kind of exposure. Puri should realize that the glamour treat which worked for iSmart Shankar may not work for Romantic. He should also realize that without a strong story, any film will find it difficult to pass the box office test.
