Interim, Puri Jagannadh approached Vijay with Fighter story and initially they do not have any intentions of making it in other languages. But, when Karan gave the freedom and asked whether Vijay heard any story in the recent times which has universal appeal, the happening star recommended Puri’s name.
Puri along with Charmme was in Mumbai for last few weeks to discuss the probability of making Fighter in Hindi. Karan too was impressed after listening to the story. So, he gave his nod to become a production partner.
Currently, hunt is on for heroine opposite Vijay Devarakonda in the film. Kiara Advani is the prime choice and the names of Jhanvi Kapoor and Alia Bhatt are also being considered.
If all goes well, Fighter will start rolling from early in 2020.
