Ram Charan on Sye Raa failure in Bollywood

Mega Star Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimha Reddy which released as a pan India film in various languages- Tamil, Hindi, Kannada and Malayalam, however failed to make any impact except in the Tollywood market.

This came as a shock as the film has actors from across the country from various languages like Big B Amitabh Bachchan, Kicha Sudeep, Nayanatara and Vijay Sethupathi among others.

Ram Charan who produced the film reacting to Sye Raa failure in Bollywood said, “The film should have got better collections. We should have promoted the film's Hindi version in a better and planned manner."

Charan, however, tried to draw solace saying, “While WAR collected Rs 300crs across the country, Sye Raa collected Rs 275crs in south itself."

Sharing his experiences as a producer, he said, “At one stage when the budget shot up to Rs 75crs with VFX and other things, I contemplated shelving the project. We also shot a romantic song on Chiranjeevi and Tamannaah spending a whopping 8crs but deleted it at the editing table, considering the duration and other issues".

On the other hand, Charan is presently starring in Rajamouli’s multi-starrer RRR co-starring NTR.
