Anything given in overdose will have after-effects. This is true even to Tollywood filmmakers. If a film turns out to be a hit, filmmakers try to cash in to the craze and come with films in the same genre.
Though movie lovers tend to watch few of them, after sometime they get bored and reject them ruthlessly. It seems hilarious horror films genre past its prime.
With the success of Prema Katha Chitram, Kanchana, many such films came and bombarded the movie lovers. However the makers did not pick the signals that movie lovers are getting scared of such films came with them again and again. The recent result of Raju Gari Gadhi 3 sent a strong message to the filmmakers.
Hilarious horror films got a boost with the sensation of Prema Katha Chitram. Earlier Muni came but it did not do well but the sequel Kanchana turned out to be super hit.
From then on films like Geethanjali, Ganga, Chandrakala did well at the box office but the interest of the movie lovers started decreasing. In between Anando Brahma came in a different manner and attracted all. But others did not think in a novel manner. Prema Katha Chitram 2 made everyone think twice before coming out with films in this genre.
Kanchana 3 too did not do well. Raju Gari Gadhi 3 too did not attract viewers. Both Lawrence and Ohmkar boasted that they will turn Kanchana and Raju Gari Gadi into ten films franchise but seeing the results even one more film from both of them may not workout at the box office.
