Movies can broadly be categorized into four types viz. mythological films, folklore films, historical films and social films. There will be several sub classifications. But then, these four genres are broadly be considered for assessing film history.
It is a known thing that heroes of yesteryears happened to work on all the above genre films. By the way, number ones of 1950s and 60s late NTR and late ANR did the films on all the aforesaid genres. They delivered solid blockbusters in mythological, folklore and social genres.
However, both late NTR and ANR failed to get blockbusters in history genres. Movies like Bobbili Yuddham and Tenali Ramakrishna got just success status while Palnati Yuddham, Akbar Salim Anarkali, Samrat Ashoka and Srinadha Kavi Sarvabhouma could not live upto expectations.
As we all know, Megastar Chiranjeevi's Sye Raa Narasimhareddy falls under historical genre. Aforementioned films didn't have such a larger canvas and magnitude as Sye Raa had. Moreover, Sye Raa was made as the costliest product and the opening collections are very high. Box office trends suggest that Sye Raa would become a huge blockbuster and would easily outsmart senior NTR and ANR's historical films.
One instant reason which could say Sye Raa is bigger than all the historical films is that Sye Raa will live for ages due to its brilliant content which was well executed by the director and lavishly made by the producer. And the day one collections were phenomenal like a Tsunami. Aforementioned historical films didn't register such records in the history books.
