The Telangana High Court has other day declined to stay the release of Mega Star Chiranjeevi’s next outing Sye Raa Narasmha Reddy as demanded by the kin of Uyyalawada Narasimha Reddy in a PIL hey filed.
The petitioners Doravari Dastagiri Reddy and others who claim to be the legal fourth generation heirs of the freedom fighter alleged that producer Ram Charan had promised 10% remuneration for the kin of the total cost of making the film as royalty, for using their family history, house and other articles in the film. However, the makers did not keep their promise, he asserted.
However, The High Court ordered them to approach a Civil Court to impose the agreement and opined that there is no need to stall the release of the film for the same. The Court also proclaimed that the issue can be settled even after the film’s release.
Kin of Uyyalwada also demanded that Sye Raa should be screened for them before its release as they want to know whether there are any objectionable scenes in the film. The Court clearly mentioned that there’s no such term in the law that kin should be screened a biopic before its release.
With this, almost all the hurdles are cleared for Sye Raa to release clean on October 2nd.
