Soon after winning the general elections, AP CM YS Jagan Mohan Reddy proclaimed that he would fight for AP's special category status. He conveyed his voice at the BJP top brass like Amit Shah and attended NITI Ayog meet to demand special category status to AP.
Leaving a sheer astonishment to YSRCP, the BJP made it clear that they would not declare SCS to AP.
The union home minister Nirmala Seetharaman gave a written explanation that the centre would not announce SCS to AP seven more states are also demanding the SCS.
Analysts say BJP wants to get emerged as an alternative force in AP and they are not in a position to make YSRCP benefited with SCS status. And this reason prompted BJP to deny SCS to AP.
