However, some of the welfare schemes announced by the party turned controversial as the government had no idea on the ground level realities of such schemes. YS Jagan was quite generous at announcing 'Amma Vodi' scheme' which is intended to give Rs.15000 to those mothers who send their children to any school including private and government sectors.
However, the government has been so quick in making out the flaws of the scheme. Eventually, the finance minister Buggana Rajendranadh Reddy officially stated that the scheme would be confined to government schools only.
