Legendary director BN Reddy who made several classics was required to travel by train. He got ticket reserved in first class. Before getting into his compartment, he checked the passengers chart. In that his name was printed as PN Reddy.
He got doubt and did not get into the compartment with his luggage. Those who came with him to give sendoff tried convincing him that it was a printing mistake. However BN Reddy refused to travel by train saying, “If I get in and the PN Reddy comes and ask me to vacate the seat, what will be my position."
In the last minute, TTE came and changed the name in the chart from PN Reddy to BN Reddy and later BN Reddy entered into the compartment.
It is known that, BN Reddy was the first person to receive the prestigious 'Dada Saheb Phalke Award' from South India. He was the first Indian film personality to receive the Doctor of Letters honor.
