Radhika Apte is known for her red hot looks, ravishing poses on and off the screen. The actress who romanced Balakrishna in Legend and Lion and Rajinikanth in Kabali, however is known for her bold portrayal in films like 'Parched', 'Sacred Games', 'Lust Stories' and 'Ghoul'.
Apart from it, she is also known for her controversial statements on south stars and MeToo movement. In the meantime Radhika landed in a huge controversy for endorsing a hair oil brand. She endorsed a company brand Clinique which claimed to prevent growth of new grey hair and delaying it.
In the commercial Radhika was seen endorsing the product Marico’s True Roots Botanical Hair Tonic saying, “Stop new grey hair”, “Jo naye safed balon ka aana roke, jad se”, “True roots ke 100 % natural extracts balonke jadonme jakar melanin bhadaye. 90 days tak regularly lagayen taki safed balon ka aana band ho jaye”, “Safed baalon ka jaldi aana jad se rokiye, with TRUEROOTS.”, “No New Greys in 90 days, get rid of premature grey hairs from the root.”
Advertising Standards Council of India (ASCI) found that these claims were not substantiated and even though the product may result in darkening of grey hair by virtue of Kesh Ranjak ingredients, the claims were discovered to be misleading by ambiguity and implication. The graphic on the ad and on the pack that depicted grey hair turning black was considered to be a misrepresentation of the actual product action.
