Mega Star Chiranjeevi got relief in Andhra Pradesh High Court when it quashed the case against him. It is known that Chiranjeevi, the then Congress leader, campaigned for his party in the 2014 elections.
Arundalpet police, Guntur district filed a case against Chiranjeevi alleging that he campaigned even after 10 PM on April 27th, 2014 and thus violated the election code. Subsequently lower court started proceedings against Chiranjeevi taking the charge sheet into consideration.
Chiranjeevi approached High Court against the lower court decision. In the High Court, Chiranjeevi's lawyer argued that Lower Court considered the charge sheet filed by the police with malafide intent and requested to cancel all the charges.
Justice T Rajini, after hearing the case, quashed all the proceedings against Chiranjeevi, thus giving him a huge relief. Chiranjeevi few years back took silent retirement from politics and is now busy shooting for Sye Raa after making a comeback to screen with Khaidi No 150.
