Super Star Mahesh Babu's films reach another level when they get positive talk, thanks to his following among family and young movie lovers. However the reason behind his films not doing well in Ceded and B, C centers in Andhra is due to his lack of mass fan base.
Mahesh till now did not do out and out mass entertainers. Even in Pokiri, he was shown in a stylish avatar and not as a mass hero. For some reason, Mahesh stayed away from mass roles. Though he neared 25 films, he for some reason is not keen to come out of his comfort zone.
Sukumar tried to show Mahesh in out and out mass role in his upcoming entertainer. Though Sukumar narrated many stories to Mahesh, he ensured that Mahesh's role looked similar to that of mass shades in Ram Charan's in Rangasthalam.
Though Mahesh told him continuously not to come up with such roles for him, the director tried convincing Mahesh saying viewers will get excited if he does mass appealing role. Mahesh tried avoiding him, asking to come up with fully bound script. Mahesh in the meantime started listening to other stories from other directors and Sukumar did not like it.
He expressed his anger with his close aides questioning Mahesh's acts as to why he is listening to other directors’ stories when he is working hard for a story for him after Rangasthalam blockbuster. In the meanwhile, Mahesh who was wondering how to say NO to Sukumar, got the golden opportunity when Sukumar scored a self goal by announcing his project with Stylish Star Allu Arjun. Mahesh at once cancelled his project citing creative differences.
Nonetheless, film analysts opine that, Mahesh Babu needs to come out of his comfort zone and should do mass entertainers to enhance his market in mass centers.
