Legendary actor NTR was hailed as one of two eyes of the Tollywood the other being ANR. After many decades, a biopic on the legendary actor NTR materialized and it hit the screens during Sankranti.
Many top Tollywood stars played important roles in the film and industry too had high expectations on NTR biopic as it is coming after the sensation of Savitri's biopic Mahanati. Critics criticized Krish for following Mahanati template and he also faced criticism that he finished the film's first part in a short time without touching on the important incidents in his life.
The makers promoted the film as a pride of Telugu Community and Telugu Jaati. But what shocked all is not only the so called Telugu Jaati but also many in the Tollywood did not bother about the biopic. Except for Mahesh Babu, Krishna, Mohan Babu and his family members who praised the film, none bothered about it.
Kalyan Ram who played the role of his dad Harikrishna in the biopic did not even bother to talk about it. Jr NTR did not speak about his grandfather’s biopic though his brother Kalyan Ram and his uncle Balakrishna starred in the film. Some rumors came that NTR's mother was unwell and she was shifted to hospital. So NTR was silent. But NTR greeted everyone on Sankranti but did not utter a word about NTR biopic.
Nagarjuna too did not speak about NTR biopic though his nephew Sumanth played the role of his dad ANR in the film. Rajamouli did not respond though his brother Keeravani scored music for the film. During Gautami Putra Satakarni, Rajamouli wrote a big love letter to Krish.
Mega Star Chiranjeevi, Ram Charan, Allu Arjun, Prabhas, Varun Tej and top directors did not talk about the biopic. Many say when Tollywood itself ignored and insulted NTR who after attaining stardom and got immense recognition to Tollywood at international level and showed his power in politics, why people would bother about it.
Some say many avoided talking about biopic, due to NTR's political affiliation and so as not to attract the wrath of the opposition parties.
