It's yet another historical moment in independent India. Narendra Modi led BJP's cabinet passed 10% quota bill for Economically Backward Classes (EBCs) the other day and the bill was introduced in Lok Sabha on Tuesday for the house' approval to get the 124th amendment of the constitution to provide EBC reservations.
As expected Lok Sabha passed the bill some time ago. A total of 323 votes were polled in favour of EBC bill while 3 MPs voted against the bill.
The bill provides 10% reservations in education and job recruitment to those upper caste people who fall into the zone of Rs.8 lakh or below Rs.8 lakh income category. According to reports, the bill will move on to upper house (Rajyasabha) on Wednesday.
