Thankfully, Raviteja, Rana Missed It

Raviteja, Rana missed Vada Chennai

Super Star Rajinikanth's son in law Dhanush is known for his acting prowess. He even took Bollywood by storm with his realistic and natural performance in his debut film Shamitabh. His last film Vada Chennai that was released in October did not reach the expectations, though it won the applause of the critics.

Makers of Vada Chennai helmed by National award winning director Vetri Maaran planned to release it as a web-series and the first part was released recently. The film is an action thriller in the backdrop of rowdyism and smuggling in North Chennai in 80s. The story has an important role Rajan, a powerful gangster.

Vetrimaran first contacted Rana and then Raviteja. Both at first gave green signal but due to delay in shooting schedules, they backed out of the project. Finally, a character actor Amir played the role.

The film starts with the murder of Rajan but this was revealed only in the pre climax. Andrea Jermiah, wife of Rajan's character uses Dhanush as a pawn to exact revenge.

Raviteja and Rana after watching the online version heaved a sigh of relief and thanked their stars for missing the role. This is because the film has lot of Tamil flavor and it will not connect with Telugu movie lovers. Even Dhanush changed his plans to release the dubbed version in Telugu.
