Ilaya Thalapathy Vijay's political and action entertainer Sarkar hit the screens today and received mixed responses from the audience. Though the film came out well in the first half, second half was not upto the expectations.
Meanwhile, Sarkar's theatrical pre release business was valued to Rs.7.70 crores which includes Rs.2 crores for Nizam, Rs.2 crores for Ceded and Rs.3.70 crores for Andhra. As a result, the film needs to recover almost Rs.8 crores for a break even.
On other hand, Sarkar minted $329,302 in 154 locations in USA through its premieres.
Top director AR Murugadoss wielded megaphone for this film while Kalanidhi Maran bankrolled the movie on Sun Pictures. Keerthy Suresh has done female lead. AR Rahman is the music director.
