Star Director Forcibly Thrown Out

MeToo: Sajid Khan Quits Housefull 4

With #MeToo movement wave taking over Bollywood and South industries, several big names are surfacing in media with each passing day. Bollywood Mr Perfectionist Aamir Khan recently stepped down as the producer of the Gulshan Kumar biopic Mogul, due to allegations of sexual misconduct against the director of the film Subhash Kapoor.

Aamir's decision to opt out of Mogul comes after actress Geetika Tyagi tweeted to his wife Kiran Rao, who is the chairperson of the Jio MAMI Mumbai Film Festival, if she remembers that "her husband himself is working with Subhash Kapoor who's being prosecuted for sexual assault and molestation".

Freshly, Bollywood star director Sajid Khan has stepped down as the director of Housefull 4 after three women accused of sexual harassment. After reading the shocking allegations against Khan, the film’s lead hero Akshay Kumar released a statement in which he announced that he has requested his producers to cancel the shoot until the allegations against the director are probed.

Within no time, Sajid took to social media to release a statement stating that he is stepping down as the director of Housefull 4 till the time he can allay the allegations and prove the truth. Apparently, he is forced to release the statement owing to allegations against him.

Sajid Khan’s statement reads: “In the wake of the allegations against me and the pressure being put on me and my family, the producers and stars of my film Housefull 4, I must take the moral responsibility of stepping down from my directorial post.”

Interesting thing is Nana Patekar who has been accused of sexual harassment by Tanushree Dutta is also part of Housefull 4.
