Megastar's 4 Decades Mega Journey

Chiranjeevi Completes Four Decades

It was 22 September, 1978. Until then, Telugu film industry had been sailing on a snail pace with some artificial performances of the artists and unrealistic costume designing and makeup. When it comes to dances of heroes, they were felt as if the heroes were practising workout sessions.

And the unthinkable was happened on the ever remembered day of Tollywood. Yes, Megastar Chiranjeevi's debut film Pranam Khareedu hit screens with quite an ordinary buzz. Moreover, the film was made with a parallel shades. Yet, Chiranjeevi sparked everyone's attention with his energetic performance.

Thereupon, there has been no go back of Chiranjeevi. He played villain, supporting actor, second hero and cameo roles in the beginning days of his career. Of course, within no time he emerged as a top star outshining all other heroes of Tollywood. Though he had been considered to be the number one hero since Khaidi by his fans, media declared him the number one hero post the industry hit Pasivadi Pranam released in 1987. From then on no hero has replaced Chiranjeevi's position till date despite the Megastar left the industry for ten years and played an active role in politics. Currently, Chiranjeevi is working for Tollywood's next magnum opus Sye Raa Narasimhareddy.
