Tollywood stars enjoy huge fan following among all sections of movie lovers and they go to any extent to please their fans. Even Bollywood stars are stunned at the fan following and craze for stars down south. Many went on record that had they enjoyed such fan following and hero worship, they would have made even bigger profits.
But even with their fan following, Tollywood stars got huge shocks in Bollywood. This made many wonder the reason behind Tollywood stars failing in Bollywood.
Mega Star Chiranjeevi entered Bollywood when he was at the peak of his career. He came up with Ankusam remake Pratibandh which was a super hit. Gang Leader remake Aaj Ka Gundaraj ended up as average grosser. However Chiranjeevi shelved his Bollywood plans after Gentleman remake titled The Gentleman with Mahesh Bhatt which bombed at the box office.
Victory Venkatesh made his Hindi film debut with Chanti remake Anari and it just turned out to be an average grosser. He tried his luck with Ali's Yamaleela remake as Takdeerwala. The film failed miserably at ticket window.
King Nagarjuna fared better with Shiva. He later featured in a multi starrer like Khuda Gava and didn’t get much recognition. His films Drohi, LOC, Agnivarsha, Mister Bechara, Zakhm and Criminal flopped in B-Town.
Ram Charan's debut Zanjeer turned out to be a disaster. If one analyses why T-Town stars failed in Bollywood, none of them risked with a novel story but instead played a safe game with remakes. Even looks wise while North movie lovers preferred clean shaven heroes, T-Town stars sported their normal beards and mustache and this put away completely robbing them off their native feel.
Prabhas' Baahubali turned out to be a blockbuster due to strong content and if he doesn’t take care of his looks, then even he too is expected to face similar rejections. As per a buzz, Allu Arjun too is trying for Bollywood debut.
