It is a known news that a boat capsized on Saturday after hitting the pillar of an under construction bridge. There could be many technical reasons behind this tragedy including overload on the boat which, eventually, resulted in missing of six high school girls and a woman.
Second Saturday was supposed to be a government holiday. However, the ruling TDP cancelled the holiday to get wider publicity to the party with 'Vanam Manam' programme which forcibly involved school students.
However, the educational minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao delivered a weird response on the tragedy. He said the holiday was cancelled as the syllabus was not completed in schools. This is really absurd. How could he know the syllabus hadn't been completed in schools? If he is right, why had the students been involved in Vanam Manam programme instead of letting them their syllabus completed in classrooms? Why hasn't he admitted TDP's publicity hunger was the exact reason for the mishap? It seems hypocrisy is the prime agenda of every TDP's leader.
